Rustam* is a 7-year boy with Down Syndrome. He first came to our partner organization with his mother when he was 3 years old.
Rustam has a heart problem, so in the beginning his mother was concerned with Rustam doing the rehabilitation exercises. Over time, his mother started to attend the mothers’ lessons and other activities with him, observing Rustam’s abilities. She eventually expressed her willingness and desire for Rustam to start with rehabilitation exercises.
Rustam attended our early intervention program for a period of time, and then was referred to the day care program. Now Rustam can express himself, he is socializing with his peers, and he is participating in the cultural events of the organization. Rustam is ready to go to school!
